The Network and the First Nations Early Childhood Workgroup is honored to come to the Sokaogon Chippewa Community.

This event will provide the opportunity for the Workgroup:

  • to learn of Sokaogon’s early childhood and educational programs.

  • to bring awareness of the Network and the effort the Early Childhood First Nation’s Workgroup.

  • to develop a strategic plan to promote the awareness of early childhood care and education for children and families within our First Nations and communities.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the state rate until Thursday, September 19, 2019. Please reference "The Network" when making reservations to receive this special rate.

Participants are responsible for all costs and arrangements related to hotel reservations and lodging. Be sure to bring the appropriate documentation with you if your agency, organization, tribe, or district is tax-exempt.

Participant Outcomes

As a result of attending this workgroup, participants will:

  • have an opportunity to collaborate with other stakeholders that include American Indian nations and tribal communities, head start, preschool, early head starts, parents/guardians, community members, etc.

  • discuss future planning efforts and programming to promote awareness of early childhood care and education for children and families within our American Indian nations and tribal communities.

  • explore cross-sector early childhood collaborations within each tribal nation and community.

Early childhood administrators, professionals, teachers, program directors, and other leaders providing services to American Indian children, parents/guardians, families, communities, and nations.

There are NO registration gees to participate in this Early Childhood meeting and workgroup. A scholarship, funded through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA), has been applied to the administrative and instructional fees.

Pre-registration, however, is REQUIRED so adequate materials and meals can be prepared.
